Remember the movie American Beauty? Is is my life, right now. My wife is trainwreck. My daughter is distant. And her best friend fills every thought. She is in her early twenties and I am 48, so there is no crime here. But what is the most amazing thing about it is how natural it feels. We sit a lot together while my daughter is getting ready or is out of the house. Sometimes I imagine this young woman is really coming over to the house to see me. I know that isn't tru, but that is where I am at in my life. A succesful business, a loveless marriage and a school boy crush. What now? Where do I take this?

0 Vote(s)

I thought LASIK was for younger eyes by changing the shape of the cornea. But there is a group in town that says it can work to cure presbyopia, as well. My understanding is that these are different things and LASIK does not produce good results in old eyes. Help?!?!?!?!?!?

0 Vote(s)

I have a herniated disc in my neck. The ortho wanted to cut me, but a girl recommended BioSync. It is deep tissue massage that increases the blood flow to tissue. My neck is much better and even my ortho said ti was smart to delay or avoid surgery. I don't know if it will last forever, but I am doing well enough right now and I can still go to the gym and hit a ball. Before surgery...give this a try.

0 Vote(s)

I want to know what men think about the jewelry buying experience. Do you think it's worth it? Do you "get" it? At what point do you consider giving something like jewelry to the woman you're with? What sucks about the jewelry buying process? That kind of stuff.

0 Vote(s)

Finances and poor care are causing me to rethink my Mother's assisted living situation. She could stay with me and I would hire a full-time nurse. All Mom would miss are her friends. How important are these social connections? Is the place keeping her alive or her friendships? I may be able to find a new place neqarby where she could go for the day a couple times a week. Right now, she is not doing well but I don;t want to make it worse.

0 Vote(s)

I like that this site is anonymous. I am in my mid-50s and started drinking after my divorce 15 years ago. I never drank while I was married. Now I am hitting it pretty good. I never miss a day of work and I am pretty healthy, but I know it must be taking its toll. The worst thing is that after a string of bad relationships I would rather srink at home alone than go out and meet someone new. Another thing, I oretty much only drink at home. I have a soda and lime when I am out. So it is home where my hell is. Is it time for a change? I guess if I am asking the question the answer is yes. Isn't that what the book says?

0 Vote(s)

I am in therapy and business is tough. I just turned 50 and can see the end of the road. All of this and other things have me in a pretty deep funk right now. I went on medication for depression several years ago and it helped. But it has been almost 8 years and I remember the side effects were not great. Question: who is on meds now and are they still having trouble with side effects like shakiness, sexual dysfunction, and the like? Plus, are you feeling better? Is it making a difference in your life? Which meds should I be asking about? Anything to watch out for?

1 Vote(s)
