I have lost 40% of my value. If prices were to go up 5% a year I would not break even for 20 years. I am thinking of simply packing up and moving out. In two years I will have saved enough for 20% down on my next place and the market will still be way down so I will actually be in a place to build equity. I know it is irresponsible. But these are desperate times and I feel a need to look at things very selfishly. I need to make money on my house or I will be on the street when I retire. Thoughts on this plan would be very appreciated.

0 Vote(s)
