Our consulting firm had a monster first half--ahead of plan, new hires, more space--but August was horrible and September projections are not up to par. I warned the CEO about too much/too fast....Especially in today's world. But he didn;t listen and now it is my job to cut costs and do the trimming of staff and support. What the fuck is that?! I warned him, I begged him and he marched down this path to feed his ego and here we are screwed again by his wide-eyed wonder. How do I get this guy to look at the numbers? To get realistic? To not get a hard on every time we get ahead of ourselves only to see it all waste away in irresponsible binging? I am so fed up. But what do I say? Can I say anything or do I just shut up and march?

The bottom line is that Boss's are not perfect. Most people get caught up in the thrill of a quickly growing business. Cut the guy some slack! Buy him a beer see to it that he learns from this situation.
