I am in therapy and business is tough. I just turned 50 and can see the end of the road. All of this and other things have me in a pretty deep funk right now. I went on medication for depression several years ago and it helped. But it has been almost 8 years and I remember the side effects were not great. Question: who is on meds now and are they still having trouble with side effects like shakiness, sexual dysfunction, and the like? Plus, are you feeling better? Is it making a difference in your life? Which meds should I be asking about? Anything to watch out for?

I thnk it is always good to take care of yourself first. I know tons of people who takemeds for sleeping, depression, and appetite. If you need it, do it.
I had trouble with sexual dtysfunction on certain meds but didn;t want to have sex when I was so depressed anyway. I pulled myself together and got off the meds and back on track. Mental health is too important to sacrifice for sex. I say take care of yoursel first and the other stuff will come in time (pun intended).
It's funny. I've been on Prozac for six months now and it is doing it's trick. In fact, I doubled my dose a month ago, and believe me, I need it. I find that there is some sexual malaise, but there is anyway in marriage, so it doesnt feel all that different to me. Better living...through chemistry. I say take what the pharmaceutical industry manufactures just for you...
