I have always taken an invest for the long haul philosophy. I am still contributing several hundred dollars a month into a group of funds that are down around 25% this year. Should I keep at it or have recent events changed the rules forever?
Keep investing in your 401k but move the investment out of stocks and into a money market. It is hard to know when to jump back into the market. I am getting ready to buy back into financial stocks. For the long haul it is hard not to think that BofA and Citi are not going to get their shit together. Although, today the cover of the WSJ highlighted BofA's disfunction as it relates to the Morgan Stanley deal (I think it was MS). Anyway...that my thinking.
